Eat Your Heart Out, Holly Golightly

So one of my very favorite movies is Breakfast At Tiffany's. Colin loves that I love it. He thinks it is so me, quarkey and glamorous all at once (I don't know about all that). I've seen it like, 110 times.
Well, eat your heart out Holly Golightly!
I don't have to sit at the Tiffany's window eating my breakfast while gawking over the beautiful jewelry in their display cases anymore.

I can eat my breakfast at my own home looking at my Tiffany & Co. necklace (aka my medal).

Also, yet one more reason why the details about this trip are so tailored to my parent's memory. My mother was always told how much my father looked like George Peppard in this movie.

I am not kidding you when I say that he looked soooooooo much like this when my dad was in his 20's.
So there it all is. My memories and mementos from San Francisco are now forever immortalized (at least virtually). I hope you enjoyed reading about all of the details of our trip. We've been talking about planning our next one, so I will apologize ahead of time for another barrage of posts one day from another Karen and Mary Beth trip.

MB, I can't describe how touched I have been by your stories, but your dedication to this race, by the feelings and emotion you have transended through your words of your feelings for you parents, your sister, for colin and the kids... your parents would be so so proud. But most importantly, I can feel how proud you are of you, and that is so... kick ass (as Westy would say). Cancer is a bad bad thing. Sometimes its terminal, sometimes you can beat it, sometimes its something that just happens, and you move on from (as was my case). But something I can say for sure, is that wonderful, beautiful, positive things can also come from the journey that cancer can sometimes put us on). Life is beautiful, and you have just made it so much more so, for so many people - its seems that you touched alot of people on this journey. I am so proud of you, and so honoured to be your friend. You are one of my heroes. I love you. Anneke xoxoxo

Anneke, thanks so much for your kind words. This experience has changed my life in so many ways. I was afraid that I was going on and on about it, but ultimately I decided I had to share every little detail. Now I'm so glad that I did. The response that I've had has been great both here and on Facebook, both from the States and Canada (Lucy has said some kind things in response to it too). This has changed me just as much as the experience itself did. Thank you for all of the support and love. I love you too!
